Carolyn Jane Lozak

Mrs. Carolyn Jane Lozak, age 86, of rural Benton, joined her Lord and Savior on Wednesday November 2nd, 2022 peacefully passing at the Darway Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Forksville, PA.

Carolyn was born in Berwick PA, on December 15, 1935, a daughter of the late Donald Curland and Jennie White Curland. She was a graduate of the Berwick High School Class of 1953. Early in her life she was employed as a secretary for DuPont Chemical, Wilmington, Delaware. Later, she worked at numerous restaurants as a cook and waitress, and was happy to be a homemaker.

Her passion in life was music. She was an accomplished keyboard musician, playing piano, accordion, and organ on a professional level.  In the late 1950s, she traveled the eastern seaboard as a musician in The Pappy Duncan Swing Band. She taught piano to many young people, and served as organist in countless weddings. She was an excellent country style cook, a NASCAR fan, and a lady who enjoyed a cold beer until her final days.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lozak. She is survived by a son Joe and a sister, Susan Amos of Alamo Nevada.

Funeral arrangements will be private and held at the convenience of the family and are under the direction of the Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA 18614.
