Willowmea Kay "Willie" Hoover

Willowmea Kay “Willie” Hoover, age 65, of Mildred, PA, passed away very suddenly but peacefully on Thursday evening, December 21, 2023, at her home with her loving husband, Bob, at her side.

Willie as she was known by her family and friends was born on December 16, 1958, one of seven children of the late 
George Reginald & Catherine T. “Kate” Blaisure Gregory. She attended Elk Lake Schools and later obtained her GED. 

In early years she owned and operated Finan’s Restaurant & Video in Dushore which is now owned by her sister Pam and known as Pam’s Restaurant. She later worked at Cargill in Wyalusing for 16 years and was currently working at North Mountain Supply in Mildred, where she had been for the last two years.

She met Robert F. Hoover in 1996, and they have been together ever since. They were married on July 5, 2003. 

Willie loved quilting and enjoyed working in her flowers, especially the Daylilies, where she was proud to raise many different beautiful colors and then share them with others. She was a member of the Sullivan County Ring Toss League and always looked forward to the tournaments and weekly games. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Besides her parents, Willowmea was predeceased by a brother Rexford Lee Gregory Sr. on June 14, 2018, a sister Patricia “Pat” Barrett on September 29, 2023, and a brother-in-law Joseph W. “Turkey Joe” Hoover on August 17, 2015. 

Abiding with Willie’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held in the summer with the date and time to be announced.
