Wayne Leroy Thompson

Wayne Leroy Thompson, age 84, of Hillsgrove, PA, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at his home with his loving family at his side.

Wayne was born May17, 1937, in Tower City, PA, son of the late James William and Helen Mae Miller Thompson. He attended Tower City High School and later graduated from the Williamson Trade School in Media, PA.  He owned a masonry and general construction business for over 30 years in the Lebanon county area.  After retiring, he moved to Hillsgrove where he was the caretaker for UpState Properties.  On June 9, 1990, he married the former Jean Neiswender in Lincoln Falls.  Mrs. Thompson survives at home in Hillsgrove.

Wayne attended the Hillsgrove United Methodist Church.  He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer. At the age of 80 Wayne shot his first and only hole in one at the Towanda County Club.  He was also a member of the Monroe Valley Country Club where he was the club champion for several years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Stephen Wayne Thompson and his wife Alice Thompson of Westminster, MD, and daughters, Susan Jane Kiscadden and her partner Robert C. Osika, of Sinking Spring, PA,  Linda Ruth Sweigart and her partner Stephen Harclerode of Lebanon, PA, and Johna Hitzler and her husband Richard Hitzler, of Lebanon, PA; stepson Donnie Ray Swope and his wife Judi Swope of Wernersville, PA, and stepdaughter Elana Jean Glant and her husband Terry Glant of Newmanstown, PA; a brother, Ernest Ray Thompson of Lebanon, PA, and sisters, Lois M. Shreve of Linglestown, PA and Claire D. Nagg of Tremont, PA; seven grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Wayne’s wishes, there will be no calling hours.  A private burial and interment of his ashes will take place at the Hillsgrove Cemetery.
