Scott C. Keeney

Scott C. Keeney, age 72, of Wyalusing, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 25, 2019, at the Robert Packer Hospital, with his loving family at his side.

          Scott was born on January 6, 1947, in Towanda, PA, a son of the late Howard and Lois Hefner Keeney.  He graduated from the Wyalusing Valley High School in the Class of 1964. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force, from which he was honorably discharged after 4 years as a sergeant. He met Cheryl Ross of Wyalusing, PA, and on June 12, 1973, they were married. They celebrated their 45^th anniversary in 2018.

Over the years Scott had many varied interests and enterprises. Until retiring in 2015 he owned and operated Keeney’s Excavating. Scott loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed his woodworking hobby and it showed throughout his home for all to see. He enjoyed making gifts for his children. Scott also liked hunting, fishing, and being outdoors.

He was a member of the Wyalusing American Legion Post #534. Scott was a former EMT and he volunteered with the Wyalusing Ambulance Assn., the HOPS Ambulance Assn., and the Wysox Ambulance Assn. He also worked for the Towanda Ambulance Assn.

          Thirteen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and his beloved pets Cody, Buddy, and Sissy.

          He was predeceased by three angel grandbabies, and a brother-in-law, John Maines.

          Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 28^th, 2019, at 11:00 AM at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA, with the Rev. Heather M. Baker-McAllister officiating.  Interment will be in Wyalusing Township with Military Graveside Honors accorded by members of the Wyalusing American Legion and members of the United States Air Force Honor Guard.

          Friends may call at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA, on Thursday, February 28, 2019, from 9:00 A.M until the start of the service at 11:00 A.M.
