Rosalie "Dinky" Burke

Rosalie Klem Burke, age 93, of Lopez, PA, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday morning, March 5, 2024, at her home in Lopez.

“Dinky” as she was known by her family and friends, was born in Lopez, PA, on September 27, 1930, one of eleven children of the late Stephen & Mary Pishnak Klem. She attended the Cherry Township high school.  

She worked at GTE Sylvania in Towanda as a dye maker for over 25 years and retired in 1991.

Rosalie was a member of St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Church of Lopez, where she was very active in making pierogis for many years. She also belonged to the Lopez Civic Association, and the McDermott Post #452 American Legion Auxiliary, Mildred, PA.

She enjoyed being outside, fishing, and spending time with her children and great grandchildren and attending local events and celebrations.

She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by two brothers, George “Boxer” Klem, and Michael Klem, both of Dushore, and seven sisters: Katie & Ella Klem, Julia Cole of Lopez, PA, Anna Sokach of Exeter, Tillie Davis of Plymouth, Helen Wenner of Lopez, and Esther Little of Benton.

A Burial Service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA, with the Rev. Dennis Hendershot, her pastor, presiding.  Interment will follow in St. Vladimir’s Cemetery, Lopez, PA. 

Friends and family may call at the Homer Funeral Home, Dushore, PA, from 9:30 A.M until the start of the service at 11:00 AM on Saturday morning, March 9, 2024.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA.
