Richard A. “Rick” Potter, age 63, of Monroe Township, PA, passed away early Tuesday, May 8th, 2019, at his home with his loving family at his side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Rick was born August 5, 1955, in Sayre, PA, a son of Phyllis Arlene Lantz Potter, and the late William Paul Potter. He graduated from the Athens High School and attended the University of Maryland. He married the former Tracey Walsh of Mildred, PA, on January 21st, 1989, and they recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary.
He worked for the Simmons-Rockwell Dealership for many years before starting his own business, Tracey’s Car Care and Auto Sales in Monroe Township. He and Tracey operated this for over 10 years before taking over the management of the Dushore Hotel in Dushore.
Rick was a member of St. Basil’s Church in Dushore, PA, and a member of Bishop Neumann Council #12406 Knights of Columbus, Dushore, PA, and a 4th Degree member of St. John Neumann Assembly #979 of Towanda, PA, and a member of the Dushore Lions Club.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 31, 2019, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA, with the Rev. Bert S. Kozen, his former pastor, presiding.
Friends may call at the church on Friday, May 31, 2019, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass at 11:00 A.M.
The family would appreciate any donations to help with his final expenses.
