Paul Edward Kemp Jr.

Paul Edward “Butch” Kemp Jr., age, 73, of Shunk, PA, passed away on Saturday morning, August 10, 2024, at the Gatehouse in Williamsport, PA, after a lingering illness.  

Butch was born in Reading, PA, on April 29, 1951, the son of the late Paul E. and Anna May Frizzell Kemp Sr. He left school and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving his country during the Vietman War. After serving a year overseas in Vietnam he was honorably discharged as a Lance Corporal.

He returned to Reading where he worked in roofing and drove a truck for several years. After the death of his wife, Cynthia Lee Simmon Kemp on November 7, 1991, he moved to Sullivan County.  

In Sullivan County he was engaged in the construction business. 

He was a member of the American Legion Post #0303, Canton, PA. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, socializing with friends and driving his Corvette.

Butch is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Military Honors accorded by members of the Loyalsock Post #996 American Legion, Dushore and the United States Marine Corps Funeral Honor Guard will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA. 

Family and friends may call on Saturday morning, August 24, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the start of Military Honors at 11:00 AM in the Homer Funeral Home, Dushore, PA.
