Her greatest joy was being in the loving arms of her son, Tom.
On Sunday, March 9th, 2025, Patti passed away surrounded by her devoted family in the house she lovingly shared with her husband, Dennis, for the past 50 years. Her family cherished the precious days they had together during her courageous 10-year battle with Parkinson’s disease. Despite her illness, Patti’s humor, love, and youthful spark remained constant, lighting up the lives of those around her.
Patti’s warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She cherished her friendships and welcomed new acquaintances with open arms. Her adventurous spirit was evident early in life when, at 17, she chose to study as a foreign exchange student in Brazil. That experience sparked a lifelong love of travel, and she spent many joyful years exploring the United States with Dennis and their son, Tom.
After returning from Brazil, Patti studied education at Marywood College and later earned her Master’s in Speech Pathology from Bloomsburg University. She went on to dedicate over 35 years to Tunkhannock School District as a speech therapist. Patti deeply valued her work with staff and faculty and was committed to making a meaningful difference in her students’ lives.
Patti also had a deep appreciation for nature and found peace in tending to her garden. The mountainscape she lovingly cared for is now adorned with thousands of daffodils she planted—bright blooms that emerge each spring, reminding us that even after the darkest days, new beginnings await.
Patti was preceded in death by her father, Dominic Palumbo, and her mother, Frances (Ossipinsky) Palumbo.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Dennis Dibble; her son Thomas Dibble and his partner, Angela Greco, all of Sugar Run, PA; her brother Thomas Palumbo and his partner, Mary Ellen Flood, of Churchill, PA; her brother Peter Palumbo of Cherry Hill, NJ; her niece Allesan Palumbo and her husband, Lonnie Bloom, and their children, of Flemington, NJ; and her cousin Nancy Cummings of Tampa, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Guthrie Hospice, 1 Guthrie Sq, Sayre, Pennsylvania 18840. The family is grateful for the gentle guidance and care provided during Patti’s final days.
In accordance with Patti’s wishes, a small memorial service will be planned for friends and family at a later date.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Homer Funeral Home, 83 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA.
