Paul Daniel Tourscher, age 80, of Dushore, PA, passed away on Friday,
October 12, 2018, at his home.
Danny was born in Johnson City, NY, on August 25, 1938, a son of the late Paul Joseph and Mary Cecelia Thayer Tourscher.
Danny was a graduate of St. Basil’s High School, a member of the Class of 1956. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1957 to 1960.
He retired from the US Postal Service as a Rural Mail Carrier in Dushore. In retirement he enjoyed maintaining his beautiful garden and also playing golf. He was 50 years old when he began bowling. He achieved several “300” games, and enjoyed the camaraderie of his bowling family over the years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and made many trips to Lake Ontario with his brother Dick, and also deep sea fishing. He fished locally with his brother Jerry at area ponds. He and a long-time friend, went together to hunt out west where they each got an elk.
Danny loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, playing cards, and cooking meals on his fire pit; he was an avid reader and loved watching NASCAR. In 2006, Dan and his eldest grandson, Justin began a cross country journey. They played golf in many states, saw beautiful sights, and even had the opportunity to visit his daughter and family in Nevada, before heading back to Pennsylvania.
