Michael Steven Conway

Michael Steven Conway, age 40, of Waterville, PA, passed away March 17, 2019, at Geisinger Hospital, Danville, PA, as a result of an automobile accident.

Mike was born at Crozier Medical Center, in Chester, PA, on October 11, 1978, a son of Richard E. and Monica Roark Conway of Dushore, PA.   Anxious to see the world, his birth was 10 weeks early.  Under the exceptional care of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, he thrived and made it home before his December 20 due date.

In his younger years, he was an altar boy at Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church, played both little league baseball at Sun Field in Aston, and youth basketball.  He also enjoyed swimming - once saving his brother from drowning.

In high school, he was a member of the marching and jazz bands, he was excellent drummer.  He graduated from Sullivan County High School in 1996 as a National Honor Society member and went on to attend Drexel University.

Although his interests in music were varied - he was a huge Phish phan.

Mike was phenomenal chef, as anyone who has had a meal he prepared can attest.  He was currently the Head Chef and Kitchen Manager at Happy Acres Resort in Waterville, PA.

He shined in many ways. He was caring and comical, a fun uncle and loving son, brother and nephew and will be dearly missed.

          A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at 6:00 P.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA 18614, with the Rev. Thomas J. Major, pastor, of St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA presiding.

Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until the start of the service at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA.
