Lisa Ann Edgerton

Mrs. Lisa Ann Edgerton, age 47, of New Albany, PA passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA, with her loving family at her side after a courageous battle with cancer.

           Lisa was born November 9, 1970, in Trenton, NJ, a daughter of Edward and Marilyn Finan Sykes.  She graduated from the Wyalusing Valley High School, a member of the class of 1988.  She graduated from Keystone College with an associate degree in Business Administration.  She worked for a time at Dupont and later at Osram Sylvania where she met her future husband, William Edgerton.  They were married on October 15, 1994. 

          She left Sylvania in 1996 to be a stay at home mom and raise her children.  She worked as a teacher’s aide at the New Albany and Wyalusing Elementary Schools until 2010.  In 2010 she and her husband purchased North Central Hydro Wash.  In 2014, she and her sisters began a business plan for the Mad Bakers which opened in February of 2015, a place where people could come and feel at home.  She loved to make people happy with great food and make a difference in their lives.

In August of 2016 she was diagnosed with stage 4 NSCL cancer. She stayed positive throughout this entire battle and never once stopped thinking of others first. She was convinced that there were always people worse off than her.

          She was a loving spouse, mother, caregiver and grandmother.  She enjoyed her children, traveling, the beach, being outdoors and soaking up the sun.

          Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 30, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA with the Rev. Dr. Barry R. Ballard, officiating.

          Friends may call on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. and on Friday morning, March 30, 2018, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.

          Memorial contributions may be directed to a LOCAL charity of one’s choice.
