Johnny Daniel Sharts, age 59, of Sugar Run, PA, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021, at his home.

          John was born on June 17, 1962, in Meshoppen, PA, a son of the late Roger W. and Anna Shoemaker Sharts. His mom passed away when he was 5, and he was then raised by Hattie Baker Sharts, who was like a mother to him.  He graduated from Wyalusing High School, a member of the class of 1980.

          Johnny worked as a self-employed logger and also worked on the family farm.

          He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and by Sarah Taylor, the mother of Alicia and Daniel.

          Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers: William R. Sharts, on March 30, 2005, and Roger Ray Sharts on July 3, 2017, and David M. Sharts, on September 26, 2019, and by a sister Judy Anderson and by a brother-in-law, Donald “Donny” Bankes on July 2, 2021.

          Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.  

          Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Homer Funeral Home, 83 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA 18853.
