John Robert Warfle Sr.

Mr. John Robert Warfle Sr., age 72, of Stevensville, PA, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, September 4, 2024, at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA, surrounded by his loving family. 

John was born in Waverly, NY, on January 22, 1952, a son of the late Robert Adolph and Ruth Esther Adams Warfle. He graduated from the Wyalusing Valley High School a member of the class of 1970. He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1970 until 1978. He then served in the National Guard until 2007 when he retired as a Sergeant First Class. 

John worked for Cargill for almost 30 years, and then worked at various janitorial jobs. 

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching the old Westerns. He also greatly enjoyed reading. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is also survived by several great grandchildren and nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings: Larry, Hilda, Cheryl, Jean, Phillip, Arthur, Geraldine, Vernon, and David. He was also predeceased by his brothers-in-law: Ralph Smith, Morris Kinsley Jr., and Gerald Singer, and sister-in-law, Phyllis Adams. 

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Homer Funeral Home, 83 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA, with Austen A. McGee officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by members of the United States Army Funeral Honors Detail at the conclusion of the service. 

Friends and family may call on Tuesday morning, September 10, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the start of the service at 11:00 AM in the Homer Funeral Home, Wyalusing, PA.
