John R. “Ron” Bahl, age 85, of Overton, PA, passed away suddenly Friday morning, November 17, 2023, at his home.
Ron was born on December 22, 1937, in Towanda, PA, a son of the late Leon Francis Bahl and Freda Loretta Litzelman Bahl Cilvick.
He married the former Betty O. Weisbrod on June 10, 1961, and they enjoyed 48 years of marriage before her passing on January 22, 2010.
Ron owned his own business and worked as a milk hauler for 38 years, and was known as “The Milk Man.” He later worked as a truck driver for Insinger Excavating.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Ron was a social member of the VFW AJ Bird Memorial Post #384 New Albany.

He is also survived by four great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by infant twin daughters, Mary and Margaret, an infant daughter Ann, and an infant son. He was also predeceased by his stepfathers, Leo B. Flynn in 1946, and Joseph L. “Joe” Cilvick on December 28, 1981, his brother James L. Bahl on November 22, 2019, and also by brothers-in-law, Theron Dean Robbins on February 9, 1991, Eugene W. Weisbrod on September 27, 2013, Harvey Vough on March 15, 2021, and Gerald Silverstrim in October of 2020, and a sister-in-law Mary L. Vough on August 6, 2006.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 24th, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA, with the Rev. Thomas J. Major presiding. Interment will follow in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Overton, PA, where Ron will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife Betty.
Family and friends may call on Friday morning, November 24th, 2023, from 10:00 AM until the start of the service at 11:00 AM in the Homer Funeral Home, Dushore.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery Association, for the upkeep and care of the cemetery, 2002 Molyneux Hill Road, Dushore, PA 18614.
