James Lee “Jim” Craddock, age 62, passed away peacefully in Laporte, PA, on Friday, September 2, 2022.
Jim was born on March 14, 1960, in Washington, DC and grew up in Olney, MD. He was the son of the late Hilda Jane “Kate” Craddock and Lawrence Leroy Craddock. In his younger days, he enjoyed rock music, playing drums, playing football, spending time at the beach, eating MD blue crabs, and having good times with family and friends. He graduated from Sherwood High School in 1978, then served in the United States Navy for several years during which time he was stationed on the U.S.S. Kalamazoo. He then worked in construction with his father for many years.
He moved to Sullivan County, PA, in 1994, and married the former Monica Lynn Zosh on March 7, 1998. Jim and Monica were residents of Mildred, PA, where they had their daughter Aimee in March of 2001. Jim was a great father who loved his daughter very much. In his later years, he spent his leisure time watching movies, reading mystery novels, and doing word search puzzles. He was a lifelong sports fan and enjoyed watching the Washington Redskins, NBA games, boxing, and more. Jim had a loving heart, a generous nature, and a fabulous sense of humor that will be missed.
Jim is survived by his beloved daughter Aimee Craddock of Syracuse, NY; sister Rixie Scott of Silver Spring MD; sister and brother-in-law Michellee and Clay Edwards of New Market, MD; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sonia and Andrew Wendt of Constableville, NY; mother-in-law and father-in-law Rosita and Paul Micheel of New Market, MD; and multiple nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins.
Besides his parents he was predeceased in death by his wife Monica Lynn Craddock on October 21, 2012.
Jim’s family will be planning a private gathering for family and friends to celebrate his life.
