James Joseph Colson Jr.

James Joseph Colson Jr., age 92, of Wyalusing, PA, passed away on early Saturday morning, March 8, 2025.

Jim was born March 8, 1933, in Trenton, NJ, the son of the late James Joseph Colson Sr., and Isabelle Bombery Colson.

He graduated from Trenton Catholic High School, a member of the class of 1951.

He married the former Beverly Neely, of Yardley, PA, on June 4, 1960. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary last June.

In Trenton, NJ, he worked for General Motors and later at the A&P in Horseheads, NY, where he was nicknamed “Jellybean”.

Jim and Beverly moved to Wyalusing in 1960, where Jim began farming, for a couple of years, and then went to work in the tungsten department at GTE Sylvania and retired in 1992 after 28 years of service.

Jim was an avid John Deere enthusiast his whole life. He enjoyed farming and traveling. He also enjoyed reading, especially the Rocket.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday morning, March 12th, at 11:00 AM at the Homer Funeral Home, 83 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA, with Monsignor Robert Wargo, presiding. Interment will follow in the Wyalusing Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday morning, March 12, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the start of the service at 11:00 AM.

Memorial contributions in Jim’s memory may be sent to Bradford County Humane Society, PO Box 179, Ulster, PA 18850 or to the charity of one’s choice.
