Mr. James Joseph Cahill Sr., age 88, of Wilmot, PA, formerly of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away early Sunday morning, April 14, 2024, at his home with his loving family at his side.
Jim was born in Phillipsburg, NJ, on February 2, 1936, the son of the late Richard and Ellen Maurer Cahill. He attended Phillipsburg High School and joined the United States Army right before graduating, but was later granted his diploma. He served in the Army until 1957 and then served 6 years in the United States Army Reserves during the Cold War until 1963.
He was honored in November 2022, and presented with the Cold War Service Medal, at the Senior Center in Mildred, PA.
He married Marilyn Margaret Clapper of Lorain, OH, on October 16, 1957. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2017. Marilyn predeceased Jim on June 4, 2018.
Marilyn and Jim resided in Phillipsburg, NJ until moving to Wilmot in 2004. While in NJ, Jim worked for Bell and Howell for many years before retiring in 1998. While he was working he was awarded a patent for a Waste Water Management System.
He was a member of the Towanda VFW Post #1568.
Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing all over the United States and Canada. He also enjoyed constructing and flying model air planes.

Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Ellen Marie Cahill of Troy, PA, on October 15, 2021, and a brother Richard A. Cahill Jr. on December 23, 2016.
Abiding by his wishes there will be no Funeral Services.
