Mrs. Isabelle McBride, age 83, of Mildred, PA, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021, at her daughter’s home with her loving family at her side.
Belle as she was commonly known to her family and friends was born on September 22, 1937, in Plymouth, MA, a daughter of the late John Atwood and Nettie Dickerman Richmond. She married Charles Edward “Sarge” McBride on February 18, 1956. They enjoyed 50 years of marriage before Sarge predeceased her on April 13, 2006. Belle traveled all over the world with her husband Sarge, who was an Air Force cook. His last post was at the Benton Air Force Base, and then they retired to Sullivan County.
While in Sullivan County, Belle worked for the Endicott Johnson Shoe Factory in Mildred and later worked in the cafeteria at the Turnpike Elementary School, a job that she really enjoyed.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of McDermott Post #452, American Legion, Mildred, PA.
Belle enjoyed playing and watching baseball, especially when she could cheer on her favorite team, the Baltimore Orioles. She also enjoyed watching rodeos and all the bull riders, and doing puzzles. She loved music, especially Johnny Cash and her favorite, the King, Elvis. Most of all her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by an infant son, Charles E. McBride Jr., and by three brothers: John Richmond, George Richmond, Robert Richmond, and by a sister, Louise Peterson.
Private family funeral services will be held on Friday, April, 9, 2021, with Robert Morgan officiating, from the Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA. Interment will follow in Trinity Cemetery, Mildred, PA.
