Helen M. Eder

Mrs. Helen M. Eder, age 93, of Marsh Road, Albany Township, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center, Muncy, PA. 

Helen was born on October 27, 1931, in Bronx, NY, a daughter of the late Wilho and Elli Manepaa Stick. She graduated from the Hurlock High School in Maryland, a member of the class of 1949. She married Ralph Eder on August 26, 1950, and they celebrated 51 years of marriage before his passing on September 15, 2001.  

In early years, Helen worked at a factory in Suffern, NY, and then worked in the art department at Dexter Press in Hackensack, NJ, where they specialized in natural color postcards.  

In October of 1968, Helen and Ralph moved up north and made their home on a farm on Marsh Road in Albany Township, PA.  

Helen was a former member of the Kiwanis Club and the Sullivan County Council of the Arts. 

She enjoyed raising sheep and always looked forward to the lambing season. She also enjoyed ceramics and had handcrafted many beautiful ceramic pieces throughout the years. She also was a strong supporter of the arts. In her younger days, she enjoyed horseback riding and showing her tri colored Colley named Duke, and she loved telling stories about him up until present day.  

Surviving is a special friend, Donald E. Clickner, a resident of the Highlands Care Center, Laporte, PA.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Ralph and her beloved dog, Dukey.  

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at the Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA with Pastor Timothy Dendler, of the Laddsburg Community Church, officiating.
