Geraldine Ann Okolowski

Geraldine Ann Okolowski, age 84, of Sullivan Terrace, Dushore, PA, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at the Gate House in Williamsport, after a brief illness.

          Geraldine was born on November 6, 1937, in Chester, PA, a daughter of the late Hobart Ferdinand & June Ellen Walker Wheeling. She graduated from Chichester High School a member of the class of 1956. On November 7, 1956, she married Joseph Francis Okolowski Jr. after he had returned home from serving in the United States Army during the Korean War. They enjoyed 54 years of a happy marriage until his passing on March 25, 2011.

Geraldine was a housewife and homemaker and she and Joe retired to Sullivan County in 1992.

She was a member of the I.H.M. Parish in Dushore, PA. She enjoyed painting and doing crafts. She also loved to read romance novels, and play on her Kindle. She was a loving and devoted wife to her husband Joe, along with being a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

           She was predeceased by a son, Stephen Paul Okolowski, on November 7, 2018; a grandson, Paul Stephen Okolowski; two sisters: Virginia Pierce and Judith Doughten; and three brothers:  Michael Wheeling, Robert Wheeling, and Richard Wheeling

          A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 9^th, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA with the Rev. Thomas J. Major, her pastor, presiding. Interment will follow in the adjoining parish cemetery.

          The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the start of Mass on Friday, September 9, 2022, in St. Basil’s Church, Dushore.
