Francis L. Kratcoski, age 84, of Olathe, KS, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at the Olathe Hospice House, in Olathe, KS.
Frank was born September 21, 1938, in Sayre, PA, a son of the late Peter & Frances Novinski Kratcoski. He graduated from the Turnpike High School, in Mildred, PA, a member of the class of 1956. He then attended the Williamsport Technical Institute, in Williamsport, PA. He married his high school sweetheart, the former Patricia Lotsman, of Mildred, PA, on April 22, 1961, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, in Mildred, PA. Last April, they celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary.
Frank was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, in Olathe, KS.
He worked for 20 years as an engineer and invented microfiche reader printers for Pitney Bowes and Burroughs, obtaining two patents for his work. In 1980, Frank and Pat decided to try their hand at the Florida real estate market and worked together as brokers until 1997. Frank’s never-ending smile and wit put their clients at ease and made him someone they would remember for years to come. In 1997, they retired to Kansas and enjoyed being able to see all the grandchildren often.
They continued to enjoy travelling and went on many memorable trips overseas including Frank’s favorite, Poland. And of course, there were always casinos to visit across the country. Frank enjoyed fishing, his flower gardens (especially marigolds and petunias), cheering at the grandkids’ games, biking, watching the Chiefs and the Gators, and making lasagna.
He will be remembered for his striking blue eyes, his sense of humor, his love of ice cream, nickname giving and his readiness to help anyone, anytime.
