Eunice E. Karge Richart, age 85, of Dushore, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at the Highlands Care Center in Laporte, PA.
Eunice was born October 12, 1932, a daughter of the late Walter Clarence & Helen Farrell Karge. She graduated from the Sonestown High School a member of the class of 1952. She married the former Francis T. Richart of Dushore, PA, on July 3, 1959. Francis predeceased her on August 19, 2015 after almost 56 years of marriage.
Eunice worked at the Endicott Johnson Shoe Mfg. Co., in Mildred, PA; Sullcraft Mfg. Co., of Dushore, PA; and also for several years as a nurse’s aide at the Highland Care Center in Laporte.
She was a member of St. Basil’s Church in Dushore, PA. She was a loving spouse and mother. She enjoyed taking care of her flowers, mowing the lawn and weed whacking. She and Francis also enjoyed traveling and camping in Lewes, DE. She loved to go shopping and to stop at McDonald’s for a cheeseburger and milkshake.
Surviving: a son, Frank of Dushore; brothers: W. Douglas Karge, and John R. (Cathy) Karge of Dushore; sister, Irene H. Karge of Dushore, PA; brother-in-law: Richard (Bobby) Richart of Frackville, PA; and sister-in-law: Marcella Hamilton, of Fleetwood, PA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by a nephew, Richard Richart Jr.
A Transferal Services will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA, and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA, with the Rev. Richard Rojas, her pastor, presiding. Interment will be in Peace Cemetery, Dushore, PA.
Friends and family may call at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.
Members of IHM Altar and Rosary Society will recite the Rosary at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home.
