Edward G. Sykes Sr.

Edward G. Sykes Sr., age 77, of New Albany, PA, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025, with his loving family at his side.

Ed was born on October 29, 1947, in Philadelphia, PA, at Nazareth Hospital, a son of the late Harry Norman and Ruth Letitia Collar Sykes. He graduated from the Frankford High School, a member of the class of 1965. He later continued his education through professional development and several certifications.

He married Marilyn Finan of New Albany, PA, on September 14th, and they celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary before her passing on March 20, 2020.

Ed was the Vice President of STAT-A-MATRIX and later continued as a Consultant for Business Management Companies through his own firm, Integrated Management Services (IMS). Throughout his career, he helped over eight hundred companies implement ISO standards worldwide and worked with prestigious organizations including NASA, Nissan, Daimler, Ford, IBM, U.S. Steel, and the Panama Canal.

He enjoyed singing and was recognized as the lowest base singer in the Frankford High School choir. During his youth, Ed performed and traveled the world with the choir singing at venues including the White House for President John F. Kennedy, the Philadelphia Academy of Music, and on the Mitch Miller Show.

Ed was an amazing, loving father who cherished spending time with his family always teaching, mentoring, and supporting. He also loved to spend time socializing with his friends and family at the Mad Bakers.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him for his kindness, wisdom, and the boundless love he showed to family and friends alike.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Lisa Ann Edgerton on March 26, 2018, and his two brothers, Harry Norman Sykes Jr. and Bobbie Sykes.
