Dorothy "Dotty" Mary Deegan

Dorothy (Dotty) M. Deegan, age 90, of Tunkhannock passed away peacefully on September 6, 2018 at Holy Family Residence, Scranton.

Dotty was born November 11, 1927, in Lopez, PA. She was the daughter of the late Joseph & Mary Zondory Kracoski. Her husband of 60 years, James W. Deegan, predeceased her in 2007. She was also predeceased by a sister Marjorie J. McDonald Yonkin.

Dotty was a graduate of Dushore High School and prior to retirement was employed at Proctor & Gamble in Mehoopany and Nativity of B.V.M. Church in Tunkhannock. She was blessed with the voice of an angel and from an early age was a soloist with church choirs; and sang on many occasions throughout the years for family and friends.

 Surviving are sisters Marian K. McMahon of Lexington, S.C. and Joan K. Ammerman of South Abington Township, P.A.; several nieces and nephews including niece and goddaughter Mary who was always a source of kindness and patience; and Carol, Lisa and Laura who were constant in their support and thoughtfulness. She is also survived by her dearest longtime friend, Donna Robinson.

 A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at 10:30 A.M., at Holy Family Residence Chapel, 2500 Adams Avenue, Scranton, PA, 18509, with the Rev. E. Francis Kelly, her pastor, presiding.  Interment will be in St. Basil’s Cemetery, Dushore, PA.

Friends may call at Holy Family from 10:00 A.M. until the start of Mass at10:30 A.M.
