Debbora Mary “Debbie” Gredzinski (nee Ortz), age 77, of Sugar Run, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at the Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital.
She was predeceased by her parents, Richard Ortz and Anna DiEnno (nee Lynch), her first husband, Edward “Ed” Gredzinski, of Shamokin, Pennsylvania, and sister, Mary “Mickey” (James) Kilrain.
Debbie was born on October 26, 1947, in the Grays Ferry section of Philadelphia and was a member of Saint Gabriel’s Parish. Debbie married Ed Gredzinski and together they raised their children, Gregory (Angela) Gredzinski and Donna (Gary) Ritter. Debbie was proud of her roots in Grays Ferry where she owned two successful neighborhood businesses, Risoli’s Market and Deb’s Deli.
For the last 30 years, she shared an adventurous life in Sugar Run, Pennsylvania, with her adoring husband, Gustav Ebbinger, who she lovingly called “Gussie.” Together they enjoyed mountain walks, playing bingo, lunch with friends, and tending to their garden and greenhouses. Debbie had a knack of foretelling family events from her dreams and fiercely strategized picking lottery numbers. Debbie always had a great story to share. She was strong and resilient even during the most difficult times. Debbie will be most remembered for her kind heart and how she always helped those in need.
She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, Noah (Ashlee) Ritter, Cody Ritter, Alexandra (Nicholas) Rudi, Nicholas Gredzinski (deceased), Adam Gredzinski, Anna Gredzinski, Landon Ebbinger, Emily Ebbinger, and great-granddaughter, Siena Rudi. She looked forward to visiting her grandchildren in the summer and together they enjoyed long walks, Knoebels, the Virginia Naval Base, and road trips to Tennessee.
Debbie is survived by her brother, Richard “Duke” (Peggy) Ortz and her youngest sister, Judith “Judy” DiEnno (Michael Zarrella). She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews.
