David Wayne Quick

David Wayne Quick age 65, of Quicks Bend, PA, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, February 12, 2025, in the comfort of his home surrounded with love from his family. 

David was born on July 10, 1959, in Somerville, NJ, a son of Patricia Fetterman Quick and the late Herbert H. Quick. He graduated from Columbia Montour Area Vo Tech a member of the class of 1978, specializing in Electronics Technology.  

He honorably served his country in the United States Army National Guard. He retired from the Army National Guard in 2003 after 22 years of service. While serving, he was a 31V10 Tactical Radio Operator. During his military service, he also worked and was the manager at Radio Shack in Berwick and then later worked at Heinz Pet Foods in Bloomsburg. After moving to Quicks Bend, he worked at Excel as a forklift driver.  

Dave enjoyed his home along the river, where he could enjoy his favorite pastime of fishing. As an avid fisherman he collected rods and reels. He was also an avid collector of electronics, from stereos, movies, and records. Dave was also a great handyman and crafty guy. Christmas was his favorite holiday, where he put a lot of time and thought to make the holidays memorable for his family. Dave was nicknamed Budda and Quickie by his coworkers and military buddies.  

However Dave’s greatest joy was spending time with his family. He touched the lives of everyone he met and was kind hearted, funny, patient, and genuine and will be missed by all who knew him.

Dave is also survived by eight nieces and eight nephews and several cousins. 

Besides his father he was predeceased by a daughter Brandi L. Quick on December 31, 2021. 

A Celebration of David’s Life will be held sometime in May at a date and time to be announced.  

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Homer Funeral Home, 83 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA 18853.
