David Michael Cleary

David Michael Cleary, age 85, formerly of Overton, PA, passed away on Sunday evening, December 31, 2023, at the Robert Packer Hospital, in Sayre, PA.

Dave was born on Staten Island, NY, on June 18, 1938, a son of the late Peter & Marisia Kearin Cleary.  He graduated from High School and married the former Elfrieda Dill.

Dave served as a Lance Corporal in the US Marines from 1957 to 1963.

He worked as a New York City Fireman for 37 years, retiring in 1999.  He and Elfrieda moved to Sullivan County in 2003.

Dave most enjoyed mowing his grass and his pet cats, especially Molly Malone.
    
He was a member of St. Basil’s Catholic Church, in Dushore, PA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Basil’s Catholic Church in Dushore, PA, on Friday, January 5, 2024, At 11:00 AM with the Rev. Thomas J. Major, presiding.   Interment will follow in St Basil’s Cemetery, Dushore, PA.
Graveside Military Honors will be accorded by the Honors Detail of the United States Marine Corps.
