Clifford Merritt Molyneux Jr., age 70, of Molyneux Hill Road, Dushore, PA, passed away suddenly on Thursday morning, January 23, 2025, at his family Century Farm home which was the home he grew up in.
Cliff was born on April 20, 1954, in Towanda, PA, the youngest son of the late Clifford Merritt Molyneux Sr. and Ellen M. Northrup Molyneux. He graduated from Sullivan County High School as a member of the class of 1972.
He married the former Mary Eileen Fourney on September 17, 1977, in St. Basil’s Church, Dushore.
Cliff honorably served his country in the United States Army, starting as a paratrooper and then as a helicopter pilot for the UH-1 Huey. He was also a pilot instructor for the UH-1 Huey and served as a medivac. During his service he also worked as an Army Recruiter. He retired in 1993 as a Chief Warrant Officer 3. After retirement, Cliff and Eileen returned home to Sullivan County in 1993. He then went to work at Red Rock Job Corps for two years where he worked as a residential advisor. He finished his career at Procter & Gamble from which he retired in 2015. In retirement he enjoyed working at the Eagles Mere Air & Auto Museum.
Cliff was a very active member of the Loyalsock Post #996 American Legion, Dushore. He served on the board of directors and was also the Memorial Day Celebration keynote speaker several times.
He served as a 4-H leader in riflery and also as a judge in the Sullivan County Fair, judging vegetables. He also enjoyed wood working and model airplanes. He was an avid football fan, with the Eagles being his favorite team. In his younger years he enjoyed slingshot racing. Later Cliff really enjoyed following his grandson in his go-kart racing and was always ready to help in his pit crew. However his greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is also survived by his two special and loyal canine companions, Lacey and Finn and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by two brothers: Patrick John Molyneux on July 11, 1990, and Michael Ray Molyneux on December 24, 2020, and by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, William L. and Mary Ellen Gainer Fourney.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, in the Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA, at 1:00 PM with Monsignor Robert Wargo, presding. Interment will be in the Millview Cemetery at the convenience of the family at a later date.
Friends and family may call on Tuesday morning, January 28, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the start of the service at 1:00 PM in the Homer Funeral Home, Dushore, PA.
Military Honors will be accorded at the conclusion of the funeral service by members of the Loyalsock Post #996 American Legion Dushore and members of the United States Army Funeral Honors Detail.
Members of the Loyalsock Post #996 American Legion Dushore are asked to assemble and pass in review at 1:30 PM on Tuesday afternoon, January 28, 2025, at the funeral home.
