Charlotte Marie Billings

Mrs. Charlotte Marie (Ford) Billings of LeRaysville, PA, 89, was called to her heavenly home while surrounded by her family at her home in Camptown, PA on September 4, 2017.  Her love for the Lord and devotion to family will be the lasting trademarks of her life here on earth.               Charlotte was born in Wyalusing, PA on March 21, 1928, a daughter of the late Herman A. & Zella Anna Conrad Ford.  She attended the Stevensville grade school, and then the Camptown High School and Towanda High School.  She graduated from the Allentown Bible Institute.               She married Robert James Billings of Massena, NY in June 1946.  In 1947, Charlotte and Robert moved from Elmira, NY to the island of Abaco in the British West Indies, where they served as missionaries for nearly a decade. After returning to the U.S., Charlotte was a loving helpmate to her husband as he pastored churches in Tennessee, Texas and Indiana until his death in May 1995.  Charlotte moved to LeRaysville, PA in 1996 to live at her beloved homestead “Ford Street.”  She devoted her time to writing letters to friends and family, in which she shared her faith and told others about the love of Christ. She spent the final three years of her life in Camptown with family.               Charlotte is survived by sons Robert (Michelle) Billings, Venetia, PA; and William Billings, Elmira, NY; grandchildren Bret (Angie) Billings, LeRaysville, PA; Vanessa (Rafe) Seiler, Camptown, PA; Valerie (Ryan) Howell, Mount Vernon, IN; Mark (Tracy) Billings, Pasadena, MD; Beth Webster, Lansdown, VA; Tony Billings, Alexandria, VA; and Tori Billings Venetia, PA; 13 great-grandchildren, two great-great-granddaughters, several loving nieces, nephews and cousins, and her devoted caregivers Maureen, Irene and Ethel.  She was predeceased by brothers Norman Ford, Calvin Ford and Erwin Ford, and sisters Carmen Hight and Donna Ford.  She was a member of the Orwell Bible Church.   Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. at the Orwell Bible Church, 1749 Orwell Road, Rome, PA with Pastor Richard Vieldhouse and Pastor Ken Crain officiating.  Interment will be in the Rushville Cemetery.   Friends and family may call at the church from 9:30 A.M. to 10:45 P.M.
