Charles Thomas Gindele

Mr. Charles Thomas Gindele, 78, from Dushore PA, passed away on Sunday April 11, 2021, with his loving wife of 59 years, Carol Anne, by his side.

 

Charlie was born on February 27, 1943 to Charles and Anna Gindele in Philadelphia PA. One of 3 sons. Charles, James, and Michael (deceased).

 

In 7th grade, he met the love of his life, Carol Anne (Danieluk), to whom he married and spent the best 66 yrs. of his life with.

Charlie dedicated his life to helping others. He spent a majority of his life as a volunteer fireman, serving in various roles for many departments. He served as Asst. Fire Chief of the Northampton Volunteer Fire Dept., and his call sign was “Battalion 73.”

 

He became active in the Mildred and Dushore Fire Departments., when Carol Anne and Charlie retired to Dutch Mountain in 2004.

 

Charlie was a member of St. Basil’s Church in Dushore, PA, and a 4th degree member of Bishop Neumann Council 12406, Knights of Columbus in Dushore, and various military veterans’ organizations.

 

Charlie enjoyed everything the outdoors had to offer. He enjoyed hunting, and fishing. He even enjoyed the snow, just so he could use his plow with his favorite hound as his passenger.

Other hobbies included afternoon naps, a good country/western movie, and a great meatloaf.

 

In addition to his wife Carol Anne, Charlie is survived by his sons Jeffery (Leslie Lipton), Robert, David & his wife Erin, Brian (Patty Fritz), his daughter Kathleen (Mike Davidson), along with his brother James & his wife Jane, his grandson Cody, and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

In lieu of flowers Charlie would like you to simply support the firemen in your community, and always help a neighbor out.

 

          Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA 18614.
