Carole Ann Gumble Lukens

Mrs. Carole Ann Gumble Lukens, age 85, of Hillsgrove, PA, passed away at home on Sunday, December 15, 2024.  

Carole was born in Williamsport on October 8, 1939, and was a daughter of the late Elmer M. and Anna Scaife Gumble. She graduated from Montoursville High School a member of the class of 1957. While in high school she was instrumental in helping write the alma mater. After graduating high school, she went to beauty school. Most of her working career, she was a bookkeeper for Fry Ford of Montoursville, PA, and Don Breon Ford Jeep of Jersey Shore, PA.  

Carole served as the Tax Collector for Hillsgrove Township until this year, when she resigned due to failing health. She held that position for 19 years. She also was a Notary in previous years. 

She was a member of the Hillsgrove Community Club and the Hillsgrove United Methodist Church.  

She enjoyed playing cards, and always looked forward to Tuesday Card Club even playing cards the Tuesday before her death. In her early years she enjoyed horses, especially her horse, named January. She would enjoy horseback riding and training horses.

Carole is also survived by numerous great nieces and great nephews and cousins. 

Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
