Carol F. Earle Lent

Mrs. Carol F. Earle Lent, age 74, of Herrickville, PA, passed away early on Thursday morning, September 27, 2018, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Carol was born September 12, 1944, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Lorene Orvis Earle.  She graduated from the Troy Area High School, a member of the class of 1962.  She married G. Steven Lent of Wyalusing on November 20, 1965.  Steve predeceased her on November 28, 2013, after 48 years of marriage. After high school she attended Jean Summers Business School in Elmira, NY. She then went to work at the First National Bank of Troy. After she was married she worked on the farm and raised her family. She later began working at the Wyalusing Valley High School as the secretary to the Vice Principal, from which she retired with over 30 years of service. 

 Carol loved spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, shopping, and helping with the family’s annual fireworks show. In the last few years she had checked off her top bucket list item of visiting Hawaii with her sisters. She enjoyed helping her community and was very active over the years.

Carol was a former secretary for Herrick Township, a former Herrick Twp. Tax Collector, a past secretary for HOPS Ambulance Assoc., a past President of the PSEA Support Staff  Union for Wyalusing Valley School District, and a former member of the Herrickville Fire Co. Women’s Auxiliary.

Kevin Jayne, Christopher Lent Jr, Christopher (Kanisha) Race, Jennifer Garinger, Brittany Lent, Nadine Lent, and Natalie Lent.

Eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Carol was predeceased by a son, G. Scott Lent on June 14, 1986.

          Friends and family may call from 3:30 to 6:00 P.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA on Monday, October 1, 2018. A Memorial Service will follow at 6:00 P.M. with Rev. William L. Westbrook Sr. officiating.

          Memorial contributions may be made to the H.O.P.S. Ambulance Association, Attn: Peggy Coleman, 4001 Sugar Cabin Road, Rome, PA, 18837, in loving memory of Carol Lent.
