Carla J. Kitchen

Carla J. Kitchen, age 70, beloved wife of Thomas Kitchen, of Laporte, PA, and Melbourne Beach, FL, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 13, 2024. 

Carla was born in Muncy, PA, on December 31, 1953, the daughter of the late Willard and Elizabeth McManigal Kisner. She graduated from Muncy High School as a member of the class of 1971. She married Thomas G. Kitchen of Laporte, PA, on February 14, 1978. 

Carla belonged to the Laporte Women’s Club, Eagles Mere Country Club, and the Aquarina Country Club in Melbourne Beach, FL. She was also a member of the Sonestown American Legion Post #601 Auxiliary. 

Carla enjoyed reading, puzzles, golfing, playing mahjong, and spending time on her front porch with family and friends.

Carla was predeceased by her father Willard E. “Bud” Kisner on February 1, 2014, her mother Elizabeth J. “Betty” Kisner on March 21, 2017, her nephew Wade Sones on July 28, 1991, and her beloved daughter Hilary Lane Kitchen on August 6, 1992. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at 4:00 PM in the Eagles Mere Country Club.  

Interment will be held at a later date in the Mountain Ash Cemetery, Laporte, PA. 

The family will provide the flowers and ask that any Memorial contributions may be made to the Hilary Kitchen Memorial Fund, c/o Sullivan County Elementary School, PO Box 115, Laporte, PA 18626.
