Betty Irene Yanavitch

          Mrs. Betty Irene Yanavitch, age 91, a lifelong resident of Stevensville, PA resident passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA, with her loving family at her side.

          Betty was born in Potterville, Pike Township, Bradford County, PA, on February 1, 1927, one of ten children of the late Elmer A. & Lena Cragle Bolton.  She graduated from the LeRaysville High School a member of the class of 1947.

She married Anthony “Tony” Yanavitch of Stevensville, PA on November 25, 1948.  He predeceased her on September 21, 1988 after 39 years of marriage.

          Betty and Tony were life-long farmers, first milking and later raising beef cattle.  She enjoyed family dinners and was an accomplished quilter, sewing more than 100 quilts.  She loved gardening, and raising vegetables and flowers in her garden.

She is also survived by several nieces; Debra Johnson and Glenda Davis; nephews; Richard Landers Jr., Douglas Bolton, Ronald Bolton, and Michael Bolton; and by great and grand nieces and nephews and cousins and many friends.

Besides her parents he was predeceased by sisters: Dora Landers and Reda Jane; brothers, Ralph Bolton, Earl Bolton, Cleatis Bolton and Roy Bolton.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA, with Rev. Dr. Barry R. Ballard of the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Camptown Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning, March 17, 2018, from 10:00 A.M. until the start of the service at 11:00 A.M.
