Andrew Jay Work, age 54, of Lopez, PA, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at his home in Lopez, PA. Andrew was born November 3, 1962 in Warren, PA, a son of the late Lamont Harry & Mary Ann Ness Work. He attended the Warren High School. He worked for Deluxe Homes of Berwick. He married Donna Jean Pollock of Benton, PA, on July 15, 1989. Donna predeceased him on December 3, 2016. Andy and Donna worked and lived at the Job Corps Center at Red Rock for 13 years and subsequently, Donna became the manager of the concession store at the Ricketts Glen State Park for 18 years. Andy retired as a driller for Nomac Drilling Co. when Donna became ill. Andy was a loving spouse, father and grandfather. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler’s fan, and loved animals, hunting and riding his Harley Davidson. He and Donna bred and raised German shepherd dogs. Surviving: Son: Aaron (Jessica) Clark Port Allegany, PA Two daughters: Tara (Kevin) McManus Penfield, NY Jennifer (Matthew) Bennett Nazareth, PA Eight grandchildren: Emily, Keirnan, Aidan, Addison, Lily, Asher, Liam, and Dana Brother: Michael Work Four brothers-in-law: Kevin (Amelia) Pollock Brooklyn, NY James (Patti) Pollock West Eaton, NY Brian Pollock, her twin Benton, PA Thomas (Trish) Pollock Liberty, UT Three sisters-in-law: Kathleen Pickens Benton, PA Patricia Record Benton, PA Mary (Thomas) Dougher Stillwater, PA And numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters: Catherine McLaughlin, Bonnie Pierce and Becky Kreckel. A Transferal service will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017, at 10:00 A.M. from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA, and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA, with the Rev. Edward L. Michelini, officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, on Thursday, August 17th from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., and on Friday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service.
