Dibble, age 91, of Browntown, Wyalusing Township, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at the Wyalusing Valley Retirement and Personal Care Home. Bob was born December 7, 1916, son of the late Sloan Ross Dibble and Millie Almira Davis Dibble. He graduated from the Wyalusing High School a member of the class of 1935. After graduation Bob began working at a butcher shop, owned by his father and brother, Bruce. He then proceeded to drive a panel truck delivering meat and groceries to local residents at their homes. Eventually it progressed into Dibble’s Market, located where Wyalusing Country market is currently. Bob served in the Army Air Corps in World War II where he was a radio operator for the B-24’s. He married Harriette Jane Smith in Pueblo, CO, on July 2, 1943. After the war he entered into a partnership with his father Sloan and brother Bruce Dibble, and brother-in-law Mick Honchell operating as Dibble’s Market and later sold his partnership interest and continued working at the market until his retirement in 1977. Bob was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He was renowned for his expertise with firearms and ammunition. He loved to travel, having gone to British Columbia and Alaska on big game hunts. He especially enjoyed fly fishing and tying his own flies. He was a member of the Wyalusing United Methodist Church, a past Commander of the Wyalusing American Legion Post #534, and a member of Wyalusing Masonic Lodge # 618 F. & A.M. He was predeceased by a sister, Charlotte Honchell (1997) and a brother Bruce Dibble (1993). Surviving: Spouse: Harriette Dibble Wyalusing, PA Daughters and sons-in-law: Annette and Michael Merrow State College, PA Cathy and Dave Keeney Wyalusing, PA Grandchildren: Betzi and Jason Dreibelbis Bellefonte, PA Step grandchildren: Mathew and Wendy Keeney Wyalusing, PA Miranda and John Clark Wyalusing, PA Colleen Keeney Newport, PA Great-Grandchildren: Jason Dreibelbis Bellefonte, PA Madison Dreibelbis Bellefonte, PA Step Great-grandchildren: Jasmine and Elizabeth Keeney Wyalusing, PA Bella Clark Wyalusing, PA Special Cousin: Kern Dibble Meshoppen, PA He was also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. His wishes were that Funeral Services be private and at the convenience of the family.
