OBITUARY
Russell A. Rosengrant, age 89, of Wyalusing, PA passed away on Friday, June 06, 2008 at the Bradford County Manor, where he had been a patient since 2004.
Russell was born July 20, 1918 the son of the late Russell and Addie Ashcraft Rosengrant. He graduated from the Wyalusing Valley High School and attended one year of college before entering WWII in December of 1942. He served in the US Army 301st Infantry and participated in the battles of Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was discharged in July of 1945. After the war, Russell began working for the US Postal System and was the Postmaster in Wyalusing, retiring after more than 30 years of service.
Russell was a very active member of the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church and served as Clerk of Session for many years and also held other offices in the church. He was responsible for helping many friends, neighbors and family, quietly and anonymously over many years. He was a former member of Towanda Post #42, American Legion, and currently a member of Wyalusing Post #534 American Legion.
Surviving are several distant cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., immediately following the Sunday, June 22nd church Service at the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church, Wyalusing, PA with his pastor, Rev. Barry R. Ballard, officiating.
Graveside Military Services will be held on Saturday, June 21st at the Lacey Street Cemetery at 1:30 P.M. by members of Wyalusing Post #534 American Legion, Wyalusing, PA.
