Dibble, age 90, of Wyalusing, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2008 at the Wyalusing Personal Care Home. Harriette was born November 11, 1917, in Dover, DE, daughter of the late G. Herbert and Hattie Dempsey Dibble. She attended Dover High School and graduated in the class of 1936. After high school she attended Drexel University graduating in 1940 with a degree in Home Economics and a minor in English. Immediately after college she moved to Wyalusing where she taught Home Economics at the Wyalusing High School for five years, during which time she met and later married Robert Dibble of Wyalusing on July 2, 1943 in Pueblo, CO. Harriette took a break from teaching to raise her family, substituting occasionally, until 1967 when she returned to the high school full time as an English teacher. She retired in 1981. Robert predeceased her on February 16, 2008. Harriette was a member of the Wyalusing United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women’s Group, the Bradford Co. Historical Society, Wyalusing Chapter 523 of the Order of the Eastern Star, and was a 62 year member of the Wyalusing American Legion Post 534 Auxiliary. Harriette was also a tutor for the Bradford Co. Literacy Program and enjoyed volunteering at the Bradford Co. Manor. She loved gardening, embroidering, and spending time with her family and friends. Keeney Wyalusing, PA Annette and Michael Merrow State College, PA One grandchild: Elizabeth and Jason Dreibelbis Bellefonte, PA Three step-grandchildren: Matthew and Wendy Keeney Wyalusing, PA Colleen Keeney Newport, PA Miranda and John Clark Wyalusing, PA Great grandchildren: Jason and Madison Dreibelbis, Bella Clark, and Jasmine and Elizabeth Keeney. Several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2008, at 11:00 A.M. at the Wyalusing United Methodist Church, Wyalusing, PA, with the Rev. Diane E. Prentice officiating. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
