She was born on May 13, 1937 to Desmond F. & Hazel F. (Mowbray) Murphy. Kathleen graduated from Bethesda Chevy Chase High School. She earned a B.A. degree in English at St. Lawrence University where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi. Kathleen taught in several New York state high schools. She and her family moved from Rockville, Maryland to Eagles Mere, Pennsylvania in 1976. There they became inn keepers and raised their four children. Kathleen, an accomplished pianist, chef and gardener with a passion for roses, enjoyed poetry, music, entertaining, travel and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of St. Basil’s Catholic Church, Dushore Music Club, Eagles Mere Civic Club, Eagles Mere Country Club and the Eagles Mere Friends of the Arts. Kathleen is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Robert William Oliver, and her four children and their families: Maureen E. Myers (Linwood), Eileen C. Oliver (David Redles), Karen A. Oliver (Douglas Rider), and Kevin M. Oliver (Astrid). Her grandchildren, who loved her very much, are Danielle, Patrick, Anna, and Garrett. Kathleen was adored by her husband, loved by her children and admired as a wonderful lady by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 9th at 9:30 A.M. from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA with the Rev. Bert S. Kozen, her pastor, presiding. Interment will be in the Eagles Mere Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water Street, Dushore, PA on Friday, April 8th from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. The very largely attended funeral of Kathleen Frances Oliver was held on Saturday, April 09, 2005 from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA and was followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Basil’s Catholic Church, Dushore, PA with the Rev. Bert S. Kozen, her pastor, presiding. Interment was in the Eagles Mere Cemetery.
