Eva was born July 12, 1927, in Elkton, VA, daughter of the late Floyd and Mildred Stevens Koontz. Her parents moved to Pennsylvania and purchased a farm in Standing Stone Township. She graduated from Towanda High School in the class of 1945. Eva married Phillip Leo Sandt of Easton, PA, on September 18, 1948. Leo predeceased her on October 13, 1981. She and Leo operated the family farm for many years. Eva also was a bookkeeper for Farm and Home Supply Co. as well as Leo Sandt TV and Repair Service. Later she and Leo purchased the Rendezvous Tavern in Dushore, from which she retired. In retirement she enjoyed caring for her family and also crocheting. Eva was a member of the Standing Stone United Methodist Church. Eva was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Koontz of Standing Stone and a sister, Virginia Tate of FL and a son-in-law, Floyd Pratt on Oct. 18, 2007. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 13, 2008, at 1:00 P.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA with the Rev. Helen H. Learn, officiating. Interment will be in the Standing Stone Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
