Genevieve was born on February 24, 1911 in Wilmot Township, Bradford County, PA. She was the only child of the late Clarence John & Anna Veronica Saxe Coyle. She attended the Grant Hill School and married Robert Francis Hope of Lovelton, PA on February 3, 1934. Robert predeceased her on November 7, 1958. Genevieve worked on the family farm with her husband and later at the Endicott Johnson Shoe Mfg. Company and the Tyler Memorial Hospital in Tunkhannock. Genevieve found great pleasure in gardening and working outdoors. Many people were impressed with her green-thumb abilities, particularly with ferns and African violets. Over the years, Genevieve enjoyed having her grandchildren stay with her on the family farm, as well as, hosting family gatherings at her home during the holidays. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Stowell, as well as its Altar & Rosary Society. Surviving: Three sons and daughter-in-law: Lewis & Jean Hope, Dushore; William Hope and long-time companion Georgette Smith, Lovelton and Leo Hope, Lovelton Three daughters and sons-in-law: Helen & Manuel Souto, Rome; Mildred & Harold Prichard, Sugar Run and Kathryn & Donald Sedlak, Rome Two sons-in-law: Francis Ricci, Dushore and Tom Comstock, Laceyville Twenty-two grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and three nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by two sons: Arthur Hope of Lovelton on October 10, 1969 and Joseph Hope of Lovelton on May 3, 1974 and two daughters: Rose Comstock of Laceyville, PA on January 20, 1974 and Patricia Ricci on July 30, 1992. She was also predeceased by two grandsons: Arthur Souto on May 18, 1972 and Stephen M. Sedlak on January 14, 1989 and a great-grandson, Brian W. Barry, on July 16, 2003. According to Genevieve’s wishes, private family funeral services were held on Saturday, May 3th, 2008 from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Stowell, with her pastor, the Rev. Joseph J. Manarchuck, presiding, and Interment was in the adjoining parish cemetery. Pallbearers were: all grandsons, Scott Hope, Roger Hope, Lewis Hope II, Leo Hope Jr., Brian Comstock, Jim Souto, Tom Souto and Bob Prichard.
