Vivian was born in Mount Carmel, PA on October 24, 1918 the only child of the late Joseph & Florence Weaver Bahner. She grew up in Shamokin and after graduating from the Shamokin High School, she attended a business school in Philadelphia and subsequently worked there as a secretary for a few years. In 1942, she joined her parents who had purchased a home in Wyalusing Township overlooking the Twin Cuts on Route 6. It was there that Vivian met a local dairy farmer, Matthew Yasharian. They married on June 15, 1945. For many years in the 1950’s and 1960’s, Vivian was a familiar face at Lieberg’s restaurant on Lime Hill where she worked as a waitress and cook. She later worked at Sears in Wysox and for Citizens & Northern Bank in Towanda before retiring. Matthew predeceased her on June 13, 1991 after forty-six years of marriage. Vivian was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, Towanda, PA. Surviving: Two sons and daughters-in-law: Dale and Marcella Yasharian, and Glen and Karen Yasharian both of Lime Hill. Eight grandchildren and spouses: Rachel and Rick Harper Butler, MO Dale and Anna Yasharian Jr. Tilton, NH Deborah Sefcovic Port Crane, NY Denise and Dan Shilling Las Vegas, NV David Yasharian Long Pond, VT Darlene Yasharian Honolulu, HI Daniel Yasharian Honolulu, HI Dean Yasharian New York, NY 8 great grandchildren and 3 nephews Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 4 P.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA. At Vivian’s request, Steve Chant will officiate at the service. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday, April 22, 2008 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Interment will be in the Wyalusing Cemetery.
