Vernon was born in The Pas, Manitoba, Canada on October 21, 1964. He is the son of John J. (Tessie) Weigand Jr. of Moneta, VA and Anna Mae Smith (James) Ide of Tunkhannock. He grew up in LeRaysville and attended NE Bradford Elementary School and moved to Wyalusing and attended the Wyalusing Valley High School. Vernon worked in Pittsburgh for awhile and moved to Fargo, ND in 1985 where he worked for the Cullen Insulation Company. Vernon loved the outdoors and especially hunting and was greatly loved by his classmates, family and community. Surviving in addition to his parents are: Three sisters: Anna (Ross) Parkman Columbus, OH Karen Girven Morrisville, NC Jacqueline (Frank) Pellegrino Staten Island, NY And several nieces and nephews. Vernon was predeceased by a brother, John J. Weigand III on May 25, 1990. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 26th 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA with the Rev. Joseph J. Manarchuck, pastor of St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church, Wyalusing, PA, presiding. Interment will be in the Overfield Cemetery, Meshoppen, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
