Kitty was born April 4, 1939 in Dushore, PA a daughter of the late James & Mary (Molly) Richley Lane. She graduated from St. Basil’s High School, a member of the class of 1957. She married Samuel H. Minier of Dushore, PA on June 23 1959, Sam predeceased her on January 26, 2000 after 41 years of marriage. Kitty worked in the food service business her entire life. She began at the Rustic Coffee Shop and later at the Green Swan. She opened up Kitty’s Corner Luncheonette at the traffic light and with the help of Valerie Farrell, created a cozy, warm and friendly environment for the entire community. She operated until the fire of January 1983 when the entire downtown block was destroyed. She later opened Kitty’s place in Bradley’s Plaza for several years. Afterwards she worked at Hurley’s Super Duper and the Whistle Stop and was currently working with her daughter at Mary Beth’s West Side Deli, where she was known for her homemade soups, salads and chili. She was a member of St. Basil’s Catholic Church in Dushore, PA and a member of St. Basil – St Francis Altar and Rosary Society. She was also an appointed Watcher for the Cherry Township Election Board where she served for many years. She also enjoyed knitting and was a member of the Dushore Stringy Things Knitting Club. She was a loving spouse, daughter, mother and sister. She had a nurturing nature that was evident as how caringly she served all those who came into her restaurants or where ever she was working. Surviving: Five Sons: Theodore (Katie) Minier Williamsport, PA Mark (Michelle) Minier Dushore, PA Timothy (Tammy) Minier Round Rock, TX John (Brooke) Minier Dushore, PA Daniel (Shari) Minier Dushore, PA Daughter: Mary Beth Minier Dushore, PA Daughters-in-law: Kimberly (Minier) Schall Rochester, NY Christie Jo (Minier) Martin Mansfield, PA Three brothers: Jerome (Josephine) Lane Cincinnati, OH and Dushore Francis (Dorothy) Lane Honesdale, PA Michael (Deborah) Lane Chestertown, MD Sister: Mary Czygier Dushore, PA Brother-in-law: Oliver Minier Billings, MO Sisters-in-law: Ora Becker Dushore, PA Janette Overpeck Mildred, PA Florence Dieffenbach Towanda, PA Donna Guthrie Kalispell, MT Nine grandchildren: Alex, Zachary, Clay, Markie, Shelby, Jacqui, Michael, Joseph and Cash; and several nieces and nephews; she was predeceased by a brother, James Lane of Dushore, PA on April 15, 1995. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 28, 2008 at 9:30 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA with the Rev. Bert S. Kozen, her pastor, presiding. Interment will be in St. Basil’s Cemetery, Dushore, PA. Friends may call at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA on Sunday, Apr. 27th from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. and members of St. Basil- St. Francis Altar and Rosary Society will recite the Rosary at 3:00 P.M. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home and there will be a Vigil Service at 1:45 P.M.
