Zuzzio, age 91, of Dushore, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at his home with his loving family at his side. Nick was born January 7, 1918 in Newark, NJ a son of the late Charles Pasquale and Maria Tortariello Zuzzio. He attended local schools and two years of college as Seton Hall University, where he was a member of the football team. During this time Seton Hall played against Fordham University where he was in a game with Vince Lombardi who became the legendary NFL coach. In New Jersey he drove for a petroleum company and also worked as a union welder. He moved to Pennsylvania and was employed by Lackawanna County as a clerk for the Recorder of Deeds for many years, retiring to Sullivan County in the early 1980’s. In retirement he worked for Dr. T.W. Shoemaker V.M.D. and the Sullivan Review in Dushore for over 20 years. Surviving, are his spouse, the former Sandra Lee Morris at home, three sons; Nicholas M., Charles and Gregory Zuzzio; two daughters, Lynn Zuzzio and Damaris (Daniel) Krier; two nephews, Thomas Zuzzio and Teddy Zuzzio. He was predeceased by two brothers, Albert and Anthony. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA with the Rev. Joseph R. Hornick, pastor of St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, presiding.
