Snyder, age 90, of 387 North Road, Dushore, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, August 01, 2009 at his home with his loving family at his side. Alex was born in Korn Krest, a section of Hanover Township, PA on July 29, 1919 a son of the late Alexander Alfred & Julia Alice Griscavage Snyder. He graduated from the Hanover Township High School and later joined the Coast Guard and served during WWII. After the War he worked as a pipefitter for Westinghouse Corp in Philadelphia retiring in 1982. His spouse the former Helen Furmanak predeceased him on June 1, 1994. He moved to Dushore in 1997. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a proud lifelong member of the N.R.A. He was formerly a member of the Delaware County Field and Stream Association. Surviving: Son and daughter-in-law: William J. & Tina A. Snyder Dushore, PA Three grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one niece and one nephew. He was predeceased by two brothers: Charles Snyder and William Snyder and two sisters: Mary Tomchak and Irene Snyder. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore,on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. with the Rev. Joseph R. Hornick, his pastor, at a later date.
