OBITUARY
Ronald G. Roland, age 67, of Edgewood, MD passed away on Friday, September 18, 2009 at the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD after a courageous battle with cancer.
Ron was born in Baltimore, MD April 29, 1942 a son of Doris Flynn and the late Basil Monroe Roland. He graduated from the Kenwood High School, Perry Hall, MD and served during the Vietnam Era in the US Navy. He married the former Joyce Sick of Lovelton, on April 17, 1971 and they recently celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary.
He began working for Allstate Insurance Co in 1964 and worked as a Claims Adjuster retiring in 2002 after 38 years of service.
Ron was a member of the Presbury United Methodist Church in Edgewood and was a loving spouse, father and grandfather. Over the years, he and his family enjoyed boating, fishing and crabbing in the Chesapeake Bay. He especially enjoyed spending time at their seasonal home in Lovelton and puttering with automobiles.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at the Forkston United Methodist Church at 12:00 Noon with Rev. Jean Swett, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Forkston Cemetery.
The Family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
The family will provide the flowers and request that Memorial Contributions be given to the Forkston Cemetery Association, RR 2 Box 135, Mehoopany, PA 18629.
