Mary was born January 1, 1918 in Reading, PA a daughter of the late Joseph M. Higgins Sr. who was born in Ireland and Martha Laurenson of Muncy Valley. Mary’s father Joe Higgins was the first golf professional at the Eagles Mere Golf Course in 1914. Mary was a loving spouse, mother and grandmother. She was a homemaker and was married to James S. Dunham of Eagles Mere. Jim predeceased her in 1975. She later married Dawson A. Smith of Slatington, PA who predeceased her in 2003. After Dawson’s death, Mary returned home to be with her family in Eagles Mere. Mary was a member of the Eagles Mere Community Church. Dawson Salisbury, MD Three step-daughters: Sandra Frederick Tatamy, PA Kristine Lendvay Allentown, PA Cynthia Conzoneri Lewisberry, PA Sister-in-law: Rita Higgins Roxborough, PA Six Grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph M. Higgins Jr., and a sister Ruth Dunham. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at the Eagles Mere Community Church, Eagles Mere, PA with the Rev. John H. Clark, officiating. Interment will be in the Eagles Mere Cemetery. The family will provide the flowers and ask that memorials be directed to Susquehanna Hospice, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701-1995.
