Mergen, age 38, of New Albany, PA passed away on Monday, May 5, 2008 at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA as a result of a fall at his residence. Michael was born in Philadelphia, PA on September 15, 1969 a son of Linda Keefer Mergen and the late Michael John Mergen. He graduated from the Sterling High School, a member of the class of 1987. He attended Cantabury Technical School. He married the former Tammy M. Eberlin of New Jersey, on October 16, 1998 in Laurel Springs, New Jersey. They moved to New Albany in the fall of 2007. Michael was employed as a driver by Federal Express. Michael enjoyed NASCAR was a Dallas Cowboy Fan and enjoyed spending time and playing with his sons and entertaining his family and friends at home bar-b-q’s and family functions. Surviving: his loving spouse, Tammy and three sons: Taylor D, Adam M. and Michael J. all at home. His mother, Linda Burmeff of Philadelphia, PA; three sisters and spouses: Lorie (Dennis) Coyne, Dawn (Daniel) McGinley and Danielle Mergen all of Philadelphia, PA; father and mother-in-law, Al & Joyce Eberlin of New Albany; Brothers and sisters-in-law: Jonathan Eberlin, Monroeton; Vincent (Nicole) Eberlin, Asylum Twp., Ginger (Tony) Becker,Brett Eberlin; Sugarbush Valley, VT; Damon (Marion) Eberlin, Sayre; Numerous nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 12, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the New Albany Baptist Church with the Rev. Daniel H. Jordan, her pastor, officiating. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
