OBITUARY
Joseph L. Terascavage, age 79, of Homets Ferry, Wyalusing Township, passed away on Friday afternoon, June 26, 2009 at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA with his loving family at his side.
Joe was born, May 12, 1930 in Dupont, PA , son of the late John and Helen Tetlak Terascavage . His family moved to Wyalusing and he married the former Nancy Kinney of Wyalusing on November 13, 1954. They celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary last November
Joe, who was well known for his tremendous work ethic, began working at Arey Lumber Company and then began working for Penn Dot from which he retired in 1982 after 25 years of dedicated service. In retirement he continued working with Wyalusing, Tuscarora and Standing Stone Townships.
He was a member of St. Mary’s of the Assumption Catholic Church in Wyalusing and enjoyed visiting casinos and flea markets, camping, fishing in the St. Lawrence and riding around over the years with his faithful dogs Dreyfuss and Duke.

Five great grandchildren: Kyler Robida, Austin Moore, Ethan Moore, Evan Moore and Ian Moore and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Larry Terascavage of Homets Ferry and Edward Terascavage of Dupont and a brother-in-law, Theodore Soloweij of Wyalusing, sisters-in-law, Delores Kinney of Wyalusing and Marguerite Forsyth of Elmira, NY, brother-in-law, Henry Wood of Wyalusing, PA.
A Transferal Service will be held on Thursday morning July 2, 2009 at 10:00 A.M from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary’s Church, Wyalusing, PA with the Rev. Joseph J. Manarchuck, his pastor, presiding.
Friends may call on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M.
The family will provide the flowers and request that Memorial Contributions be directed to St. Mary’s Church, RR 4 Box 4003, Wyalusing, PA 18853.
